Shamans and Shamanism

• Shamans’ (defined broadly) are persons whose specialized social role involves the direct contact and manipulation of &spirits’ for healing and divination
• Shamans use techniques they have learned through special training that allow them to directly experience spirits and other worlds
•Shamanism,’ as Bumochir Dulam and others have argued, does not & exist but is an artificial western cultural concept created for comparative purposes
