The Cuyamungue Institute (CI) offers an Ecstatic Posture Workshop designed for the worldwide network of changemakers. This immersive experience empowers social innovators, enabling a deeper connection with inner resources, creativity, and transformative energy through the exploration of ecstatic postures—a time-honored embodied practice for personal and collective transformation. The community of changemakers will gain new perspectives and access expanded levels of consciousness, facilitating bold ideas and a path forward to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges.

Why Ecstatic Postures?
 An Embodied Approach
As changemakers, your work requires constant innovation, resilience, and the ability to see beyond the surface of complex issues. Ecstatic Postures are an ancient technique used across cultures to enter altered states of consciousness, fostering visionary experiences, clarity, and healing. This practice aligns with the general changemaker philosophy of being a changemaker by encouraging participants to:

  •  Unlock creative potential for bold solutions

  • Access intuitive guidance for complex problem-solving

  • Build mental resilience, emotional balance and general well-being

  • Strengthen connections to a global community

The Cuyamungue Institute has refined these practices, based on the pioneering work of the late anthropologist Dr. Felicitas Goodman to offer a grounded, accessible path for modern leaders seeking to deepen their capacity for transformation.

Why This Matters for Changemakers

We are inspired by the changemakers who are at the forefront of solving complex global challenges. Ecstatic Postures offer a profound way to support this journey by cultivating deeper awareness, vision, and resilience. The transformative potential of these visionary experiences lies in their ability to expand consciousness, helping us reconnect with a sense of purpose, and build our internal strength supporting lasting, positive change.

Transformative Solutions
The challenges facing humanity today call for transformative solutions. The Cuyamungue Institute is part of a growing movement of innovative organizations committed to applying the wisdom gained through embodied practices to drive meaningful change.

Through the practice of Ecstatic Postures, participants experience a profound shift in perspective—from the illusion of a separate self to a deep awareness of our interconnectedness with one another and the natural world. This expanded awareness allows us to perceive not only our own place in the world but also the intricate relationships that bind us to everything around us.

Increasingly, insights from modern science are aligning with the wisdom of indigenous traditions and embodied practices, affirming the fundamental truth that all life is interconnected.

Transformative change begins with individuals. By cultivating expanded states of awareness, we open ourselves to new insights and innovations, which in turn fuel transformative action.

As more people embrace this holistic awareness, we move closer to a paradigm shift—one that recognizes the world as a deeply interconnected system, where solutions must be rooted in collaboration, respect for all forms of life, and a commitment to sustainability.

The Cuyamungue Institute welcomes you to step into a transformative space where ancient wisdom meets modern  changemaking.

Together, let’s create the inner shift necessary for bold, outer change.

About the Practice of Ecstatic Postures

About Dr. Felicitas Goodman

Embodied Transformation: Ecstatic Postures, as practiced at the Cuyamungue Institute, serve as a powerful catalyst for embodied transformation, aligning closely with the spirit of changemaking. By fostering an intentional connection between body, mind, and spirit, these ancient practices offer changemakers a pathway to access deeper wisdom, enhance creativity, and cultivate resilience. Through engaging altered states of consciousness, practitioners unlock intuitive insights and visionary thinking, essential for creating innovative solutions to complex challenges.

Ecstatic Postures anchors transformation in the body. This process allows changemakers to move beyond conventional frameworks, embodying new perspectives and approaches. As insights gained during these experiences are grounded in the physical and emotional self, they become actionable, fostering sustainable personal and social change.

Practiced individually or in groups, Ecstatic Postures also strengthen community bonds. The shared ritual experience fosters connection, empathy, and a collective sense of purpose.  Ecstatic Postures inspire a sense of interconnectedness, reminding changemakers that personal transformation and societal transformation are intertwined. By cultivating presence, resilience, and a profound connection to the collective, this practice empowers changemakers to not only envision a better world but also take embodied steps toward making it a reality.
